The reports about at least one ejection proved to be incorrect unfortunately.

Both pilots were found in their cockpits according to

I wonder where the 'obviously for technical reasons' comes from. A night crash with no ejections and part of the aircraft 'buried deep in the ground' sounds like CFIT to me, likely as a result of disorientation. Unfortunately, the crew consisting of two high-ranking officers reminds me of a similar event (IF my suspicion is correct!) with disastrous outcome... :-(
