The ex Torrejon base museum Phantom C.12-19/12-15 is now preserved next to the pole mounted F-86 near the Hornet ramp.
Hi Frank, you read 12-15 correctly. Here is photoproof. Pic taken the same morning.

Nope, checked my pictures, on both sides it has the same serial: HD.16-1
Oke.

Strange as at least two people noted down HU.
Not sure were I read the serial
But thanks anyway.

HU-16 is the Grumman Albatros... I remember thinking about that when I logged the Alouette, having seen the one in the museum at Cuatro Vientos

Me thinks you are mixing things up. HU-16 is the American designation for the Albatross. In the Spanish registration system it was the AD.1 of AN.1. This is a picture of the one in Cuatro Vientos actually, the AD.1B-8.

I know it was the AD.1B-8 I saw at CV... I just happened to think about the Albatross seeing the serial on the Alouette, and just possibly, some others did the same thing leading to the confusion above...

Ah ok, didn't read your remark as such. But as one of the few who wrote it down as HU.16, no idea why I got it wrong. Didn't think of the Albatros, but maybe there was something else between me and Alouette grabbing my attention at the time..... No idea.

Leaving from the entrance near the control tower you could see F4 near to a football pitch / sports ground.

Any clues to serial?

Thanks in advance.

The grey RF-4C 'dead ahead' as you left by the control tower entrance was CR.12-54/12-63 outside the Officers Mess.
Does this sound like the one you were seeking?
