Blocked flight on FR24

Post by Hermolaus »

Just spotted a blocked flight on flightradar24.com. It's blocked literally: only minimal data, no ICAO hex code, and a callsign shown is... "BLOCKED" :P
http://www.flightradar24.com/BLOCKED/4cf1245
It comes from Seattle, Washington, US, flew over the ocean and currently (1310Z) it's over northwest Spain.
Any idea what could it be? TIA!

Blocked flights are usually private aircraft (biz-planes). The owner can request that info which is sent out by there transponder can be blocked for sites like FR24. As far as I know, most of the times a "blocked" plane is from US origin.

Thanks for your replay, Michel N, and explaining things!
Two additional questions BTW:
1) Where to find over the net any (real peoples) logs/photos from LETO (Madrid-Torrejon)?
2) Where could the owners of these bizjets request blocking info on thier planes? Any civil aviation organization? (I don't think so...) Producer of the plane/transponder? (Neigher...) FR24 itself? (Maybe. If so do FR24 get paid for blocking private planes?)
