Kinda strange if these are going back to CONUS. Four VMA-231 AV-8Bs (including CG01/02) arrived November 21st and two more last week.
Obviously not going back, then. Probably departing to somewhere on the Japanese mainland.

Any idea of callsigns, etc for the arrivals?. My usual Pacific sources have been quiet recently.

All,
The CG coded AV-8B+ aircraft started their six month deployment to MCAS Iwakuni in November 2014.
Four aircraft arrived on 21 November and an additional two aircraft arrived on 5 December.

Sorry no callsigns. Only other modex known (to me) is CG07.

Btw, VMA-542 changed modex from WH5x to WH0x early November and departed for CONUS Nov23th.

From the Kadena blog come some sightings of the VMFA(AW)-224 UDP when ED-03,12 and 13 (plus what looks like the colour bird for the squadron) were noted on the 12th.

Logged at Iwakuni on 28 October 2014 were the following VMFA (AW)-533 F/A-18Ds
ED-01 (black CAG c/s), ED-02, ED-03, ED-06, ED-07, ED-10, ED-11, ED-12, ED-13 and ED-16
Unfortunately no BuNos were logged.

VMFA(AW)-225 are now on UDP. F/A-18Ds CE-02 and '05 were seen at Kadena on the 27th March.
