XV(RESERVE) SQUADRON BEGIN THEIR CENTENARY YEAR IN STYLE
15 Squadron was formed as a training unit at Farnborough on the 1st March 1915. Almost one hundred years later the modern incarnation of that unit, XV(Reserve) Squadron, marked the impending start of its centenary year at RAF Lossiemouth with a formal parade in front of their families, colleagues and the head of the Royal Air Force’s combat fast jet fleet.
Wing Commander Jon Nixon, Officer Commanding XV(Reserve) Squadron, led his personnel and the Squadron’s standard, as they paraded before Air Vice Marshall Gary Waterfall, Air Officer Commanding 1 Group during the Station's Annual Formal Inspection.
More pictures of the Squadron and their specially painted Tornado GR4 coming soon.
