FIFI, the Commemorative Air Force's Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, will visit Deer Valley and Mesa Gateway Airports. This B-29 is the only remaining Superfortress in the world still flying.
FIFI and other vintage military aircraft, all part of the CAF AirPower History Tour, will be on display at Cutter Aviation, 530 W. Deer Valley Road in Phoenix Feb. 23-25. The tour moves to Mesa Feb. 26 where the airplanes will be on display at Gateway Aviation Services, 5803 S. Sossaman Road, through Sunday, March 1.
Accompanying aircraft include the B-25 Mitchell Maid in the Shade, a C-47 Skytrain, a C-45 Expeditor, an SNJ (T-6), and a PT-17 Stearman. Visitors may tour the B-29 cockpit and purchase rides in all of the airplanes.
FIFI is celebrating her 41st year of flight with the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) in 2015, and is visiting local airports throughout the United States this year as the feature aircraft in the CAF AirPower History Tour.
The donation for ramp access is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 11-17. Children age 10 and under are free. The airplanes will be on static display when they are not flying. Museum admission and free B-29 cockpit tours are included in the admission price. Ride prices range from $75 to $1,595. Ride reservations may be made at www.AirPowerTour.org.
