C-130 Hercules reaches 50 years of service to NZ milestone

Our C-130 Hercules NZ7001 has been one of the Hercules providing support to Vanuatu following Cyclone Pam.
Some people have noticed that this aircraft is sporting special new tail art celebrating the Hercules’ 50 years of service with the RNZAF.

We took official ownership of the first Hercules in March 1965 and 50 years later it is still proving to be a valuable military workhorse.
You can read all about the Hercules in the April issue of Air Force News magazine and we hope to bring NZ7001 to Marlborough for the Omaka Air Show at Easter.

Today’s aid shipment included chainsaw packs, generators, and supplies for shelters.

The Vanuatu Government will allocate how the supplies are to be distributed.
