For me it will be the first time to visit Cerny.
Anybody for hints?
Where is the best spot? What gear do I need to bring with me?

In terms of photo-spots, I hope

helps somewhat. Some useful links to Google Maps.

Unless you manage to be parked on top, wear some quality-shoes. It surely helps during the climb.

Thanks for the comments. They sure help. Anybody on specific needs in millimeters' of lenses? Being close to the action brings it's own problems:-)

Please have a look at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 167&type=3 All the pictures of the flying and taxiing aircraft were taken with a 100-400mm lense. Obviously you need less for the static park.

Just another quick question.
Are there "wrecks and relics" somewhere around?
Maybe other places of interest?
I already noted some place called Albert, but I don't know if anybody visited that already, and if that's worth the trip?

You also pass Paris on the way, So Le Bourget could be an option.

Hi Ronald,

You're not particularly close to the action at La Ferté, long lenses will generally work fine.
I don't like the treeline you tend to get in the background, so I try to catch the aircraft in the landing on the left side or after take-off on the right side.
Still, it's a nice event.

Are you referring to the Parc de Découverte Aeronautique in the town of Albert? Can someone confirm that it is actually open to individual visitors on Saturdays? I've never been able to get in.

You might also like the Hurel-Dubois HD-34 which can be photographed at Creil.

Close to La Ferté there's a Mirage preserved at Buc.

Thanks again.
More information on Albert?
http://www.aviationmuseum.eu/World/Euro ... utique.htm

So mail or call 30 days in advance.
Le Bourget is on the wish list.
