A Boeing 767-346 operated as JAL/JL455 from Haneda to Tokushima attempted to land at the runway 29 when a vehicle was on the runway.

The pilots of the plane noticed the vehicle on the runway just prior the landing, and made a go-around, but the main landing gear was once touched the runway.

At the time of the incident, the distance of the plane and the vehicle was estimated to be about 1000m.

At the time of the incident, the vehicle was on the duty to exchange a runway distance marker light DML.

However, the controller of Tokushima Tower forgot the existence of the vehicle on the runway, and he/she gave a landing clearance to JL455.

The ATC of the Tokushima Airfield is operated by Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force.
