Nusantara Buena Air (Medan Soewondo) and three other domestic Indonesian operators have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with local manufacturer, Indonesian Aerospace, for seventy-five N219 turboprops.

According to the terms of the MOU, Nusantara Buena Air and Aviastar Mandiri (MV, Jakarta Halim) will each order twenty units with ten options while Trigana Air Service (IL, Jakarta Halim) will order ten with five options.

Developed from the EADS CASA CN-212 Aviocar, the N219 is a twinprop aircraft designed to operate out of remote airfields carrying a total of 21 passengers and crew

The N-219 was developed from the CASA C-212 Aviocar and, like that design, is also of all metal construction.

It is claimed that it will have the largest cabin volume in its class, along with a flexible door system to allow a multi-purpose missions for transporting passengers and cargo.
