I did a week long spottingtrip to asia, I flew with Malaysia Airlines so the first stop was Kuala Lumpur.
I did not have transport so was limited to the airport terminals. The newest terminal KLIA2 houses the lowcost companies.
The terminal is H shaped with two viewing erea's on the landside of the long leg. In the morning you photograph in westerly direction,
with 7 stands in front of you and a view of the new 3rd runway. In the afternoon you can shoot eastward with 9 stands and a view of traffic on the (extended) center runway.
KLIA2 has 50+ plus stands so these 16 are only a small part of the terminal. Also when the stands fill up photographing of the planes on the last positions will
become difficult because of the heathaze from the APU's. This is the result from one Saturday. It's heavy on Air Asia since they are the main user of KLIA2.
I hope their large variety of logojets makes this report interesting.
Early in the morning through the glass of the most international part of the terminals.
Then on to KLIA2
In the afternoon to the other side of the pier
Kind regards
