Two Mexican air force planes collided Saturday during an air show at Mexico's Aerospace Fair 2015 in the central state of Mexico, causing one of the planes to crash but without anyone being hurt.
The accident took place at 11:05 a.m. and caused no injuries because those on the plane were able to eject before the crash, the National Defense Secretariat, or Sedena, said in a communique.
"The crew of pilot and copilot were not hurt but are undergoing general medical exams to make sure they have no injuries," Sedena said.
The two planes were Beechcraft T-6C Texan II military trainers that were engaged in aerial acrobatics as one of the closing acts of the Mexico's Aerospace Fair 2015, which was being held in its first year at the Santa Lucia military air base and was inaugurated last April 22 by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
