messed-up scramble airshow dates calendar

Post by Glidepath »

Oi! what is going on overthere at Scramble?, hackerattack or sticky fingers :blpc: :XX: ?

you did not mention the Katwijk SAR event. (Shame on you big time), not even when you where notified, (double embarrassment)
and now
Things are now even growing worse. :||O:
Nothing of the August events (or later dates) in the UK appear to be mention in either version of the scramble airshow dates calendar.

so guys, Try and get that UK data + anything else that's missing sorted asap if you please.

Indeed, what is going on?
Many (smaller) events that were included seem to have gone missing, including Bautzen next weekend.
Athnes Flying Week was shown as being at Larissa first and now at Athene IAP, while in fact is it at Tatoi (LGTT), and the dates are also wrong.

On behalf of our new Show Dates editor:

He is working extremely hard to bring the Show Dates section back up-to-date and with some improvements, but please be patient with him  He welcomes all help with this and if you miss a show or have an update, next to sending an update via the site send him an email as well (showdates@scramble.nl). That way it is easier for him to keep track of the changes.

Your help is, as always, most appreciated!

Cheers

That's great news, thanks in advance! :D

A small suggestion - make links open in a new window. Better for Scramble and for the users.

Isn't that something you can adjust in your own browser settings?

Maybe, but most sites use convenient settings themselves.

Going totally off-topic.... but convenient or not is a personal matter. What is usually a point though, is that if you set in the document to be a link opened only in a new window/tab, the user cannot choose otherwise. However, if you make it a normal link, the user can still opt for either option. Left click to open directly, right click and 'open in new tab' for the other option. In other words, for users who want to choose themselves the current option should be the best.

Hi guys and girls,

Since last July I am the new webeditor for the showdates. I'm working hard to get as many showdates as possible back on the site. Since July I've added more than 200 shows, but I know some (smaller shows) may still be missing. My request to you all is to email me if you are missing a show or if you have new info about future shows. I will do my very best to add them as soon as possible. And as things look now...... 2016 is going to be a busy airshow year :) .

At the moment the ICAO codes (behind the shows) are not working oke but I hope this will be resolved within a week.

Whishing you all a great airshow season (with some great shows still to come :D )!!

Greetings,
Antal

Thanks Antal, you clearly have done a lot of work already.
I like to visit smaller, off the beaten track shows and I'll certainly inform you when I find one.
I think the flying days of the Fundacíon Infante de Orleans at Madrid - Cuatro Vientos are worth mentioning.

Also there was talk elsewhere in the forums about a 50th aniversary celebration of Ala 46 at Las Palmas - Gando this autumn, but I can't find it back.

Hoi,
