Hunterfest 2015 at Sankt Stephan, Switzerland

Post by Mad Viper »

Decided to go to Hunterfest at Sankt Stephan, Switzerland this year. Not regretting a moment of that decision.

1. Day started with backlight but that doesn't mean it's a disadvantage.

14. And then a moment during the day that could ended badly. Hunter HB-RVP J-4205 came in to land. But when he deployed his chute, it detached from the aircraft. Resulting in that the Hunter thundered down the runway without slowing down. It didn't looked good but at the end of the runway it took off again and all went well. But when we looked left we saw the fire engine with lights on and crew on board ready for anything. So that gave a clue that this was really close.

Luckily everything went well and the Hunter diverted to Sion. When I got through the photos at home I saw that I took one at the right time. it showed the chute detached. One to remember.

15. If you blow it up you can make out the end of the cable, which is usually attached to the aircraft, above the chute doors.
