While on holiday in Crete, I managed a few short visits to Heraklion /Kazantzakis. Though there is still military activity, I felt confident enough to take pics from the beach near the approach. Traffic can be hectic, or really, really slow at times.
First visit sept 17, I was quite happy with G-POWI A320 Titan, but later it turned out to be a regular.
New Aegean with ''flaporen'', SX-DGZ, delivered only three months before I saw it.
Loads of Thomson (737 , 767 and 787) like G-TAWD here.
Still in Danish c/s, SX-LOS of Sky Express.
Same airline, SX-ROD, landing on the cross-runway.
Last year I saw their Mad Dog all the time, now this 737-400 flew for Blue Bird.
Smartwings and Travel service fly to HER many times a day, this is OK-TVW.
For me, Transaero was one of my main goals, and at that time I didn\t even know they were about to collapse... Here T7 EI-UNY.
Another nice local, ASTRA with a nice deep blue ATR-72, SX-DIP
Second visit, saturday September 19. A bit hazy, but still some nice catches.
First to arrive was LY-VEL, operating for Condor.
Some italians this day, like NEOS 738.
I somehow missed the fact that Primera used baltic serials.... like YL-PSH here.
Really like their almost retro colours, Meridiana EI-FFK.
A well known Embraer, HB-JVP used to be OE-IHE (NIKI)
Just for fun sake...another Transaero, 767 EI-UND
Short visit on sept 27, from 14.15 till 16.15. Turned out to be Smapp Planet day, six new planes (for me) of this airline!
Polish Planet SP-HAE, a former Chinese A320
British biggy, Thomson 767 G-OBYH
One of only a handfull Airbusses of this airline, OK-HCB
Small Planet Baltic-bus LY-SPF
On september 28 we drove to chania, we made a small detour for this museum in Chromonastiri.
Former Greek miltary Cessna U-17...
..and this unknown UH-1. I did see the c/n-plate, but couldn't read the serial.... (anyone??)
Small hit and run for the Thomson 787 a day later, and got a 717 as bonus!
All good things end, and whilst on board our taxi back, I was able to get these..
OK-TVM travelservice
D-ABKI former Air Berlin, now TUI
OM-GTD, very white, for travelservice/smartwings.
