Aircraft and helicopters also use other air bases as staging bases or emergency bases. Spotting is also more dangerous on these bases because of artillery and other war actions. Also at least 2 Il-20 and a Il-22 use other bases regularly. Several cargo planes as Il-76 use other bases regularly for transport of soldiers and military equipment. Russian military units based at Syrian artillery and storage bases.
