The dates are news to me, but it is the norm for F/A-18s from Japan (VMFA(AW)-242) plus one of the UDP units to deploy to Khorat, plus other USMC assets to U-Tapao. Last year these consisted of 6x MV-22B, around 4-6 KC-130J at both Khorat and U-Tapao, AH-1W/UH-1Y from Futenma and the UC-12W/UC-35Ds from Japan operating from UTP.

Other assets noted were 5 KC-130T from VMGR-452 (3 at each end of the exercise-1 repeat) and a RoKAF C-130J before and after the exercise. The JASDF deployed a C-130H to U-Tapao at some point during the exercise.

Cope Tiger 2016 is 08 until 19 March this year.
