Beech D.18S fuselage in Bessenbach, Germany

Post by Gerard »

Today, 25JAN16, I visited a company called Private Wing, located at Frauengrund 4, 63856 Bessenbach, Germany.

Not only do they sell nice furniture, made out of aircraft parts, they also have a Beech 18 fuselage on display outside (visible from the road, even outside of office hours). According to the staff, the owner bought it in the US about 3 years ago.

I checked the very corroded c/n plate, which seems to show CA-242.
This would make it a Beech D.18S 3NM, a.o. former RCAF 2363.
On the right side faded Panam titles are visible.
