He suggested we try Bandung on the first day because normally the transport aircraft participate in the flight pass from this base.Alsmost no operational aircraft where seen here so after a few hours we drove back to Jakarta (via Bogor).
Two EC.120's landed:
TNI-AU has a maintenance facility here. Two C-130's where stored here. This is one of them.
Another one is being prepaired for overhaul. We arrived too late to read the serial, the toxic paint remover already removed the serial:
In the hangar we saw two Herks in overhaul and read some other stored aircraft on different spots on the airfield (DHC.5, Galeb etc.). On our we to Bogor we passed this Alouette in the mountains. It is a memorial for an Alouette that crashed here in the 60's.
Our first day was a bit disappointing. MP heard most of the fighter aircraft landed at Halim so we would try our luck at Halim the day after.
