A French frigate should visit next week, but this one was cancelled already. The USS Mount Whitney though is coming back once again. Arriving on the 24th, leaving the next day in the morning. Probably still with the same (?) MH-60 as late last year.
The Lynx onboard the fregate was the 19204 (read off when the ships went out to sea Saturday)
Although not Lisbon harbour, but I did notice PT-ZNV A-29B (Super Tucano) at Sintra on Friday the 20th.
Also noted a special colours TB.30 there anyone for it's number?

And back to topic: the USS Mount Whitney was indeed in port this morning. Again, it carried MH-60S 168573/BR-34, like the visit last year. Just this time it was readable...
This morning around midday the PLAN Xiantang had its hangar open. Inside the Z-9 was visible, with the c/n of Z9-0585 readable. This fits with the Z-9 that was seen in Kiel last week (serial 9756).
In port right now is HMS St Albans of the Royal Navy. This morning the hangar was half open and inside was a Merlin. Unfortunately the serial was blocked with something, so I couldn't read it myself. Apparantly it should be ZH828/88 a Merlin HM.2, but confirmation of this would be very much appreciated.
The ship will leave tomorrow morning (2 August) again by the way.
Next two coming in a few days.
FGS Karlsruhe from 7th September until the 11th (German Navy, possibly with a Lynx)
ORP Generał Tadeusz Kościuszko from 7th September until the 10th (Polish Navy, possibly with up to two Sea Sprites)
I have just been informed that the ORP Generał Tadeusz Kościuszko is open to the public on Thursday the 8th from 12h to 18h. The ship will be berthed at Cais da Rocha.
Today around 13.00 there were three ships in port, visible from the bridge (Ponte 25 Abril). The mentioned German was closest to the bridge and had its hangar wide open, but it wasn't possible to distinguish a helo. The mentioned Pole was at the old cruise terminal, together with the Brasil which is the training frigate of the Brazilian navy. It does have a helicopter deck and hangar, but usually does not carry a helicopter. Both Pole and Brazilian were closed.
