The 5th Kavala Air Sea Show will be held over the weekend of 25 - 26 June. The Organizing Committee expect that this year’s participants will perform an even more spectacular show over the picturesque seashore of Kavala with the aim of doing justice to the show’s motto “we raise our heads up”! The Committee are enthusiastic about establishing an honorable institution for the whole SE Europe which will not only promote the aviation ideals and naval tradition but will also provide entertainment, shopping, cultural and tourism opportunities, very pleasant and emotional experience for visitors of all age.
The coming June’s event will include the centennial ceremonies of Thasos Municipality under title “Thasos - 100 years since the Air War over the Macedonian Front and the Aegean Sea”, a remembrance of those great aviators and their exploits during the Great War. The ceremonial events will take place on Friday the 24th on the beautiful island of Thasos and will hopefully include the re-enactment of a Great War flight. A Bristol Scout replica - accurate to the very last detail, with David Bremner as pilot, will raise to the same skies from the very same aerodrome as done 100 years ago by his Granddad, Francis Donald Bremner. Participants will include the Union of Allied Combatants Macedonian Front 1916 - 18 (Greece, France, Great Britain, Serbia, Italy, and Russia).
