That is correct! So a few ex 32 with the RSAF and now one for the IDF :-)![/quote]

If my information is correct, 065 was the last of the original-delivered (jan1983) Soesterberg-F15s still flying for the US Air Force. All others have been sold, scrapped, or stored earlier.

Now there are no ex-32TFS flying in the USAF anymore.

Serials are correct as personally read on arrival.

79-0008 was (IIRC) at Bitburg AB from 1979 with the 525th TFS as BT bl (remember them)?, for those spotting in the late 70s and early 80s.
Even 80-0057 has a European history! Saw this one at RIAT wearing 'IS' tailcode a little while ago.....

Around 17.30LT the first four-ship appeared with local F-15C 575 guiding them in, but you CR fans don't want to see that, do you.

At least the IAF serial allocator will have less of a problem here, the 965 having been lost over 20 years ago.

Anyone know why they're heading to Nevatim instead of Tel Nof? Is Israel setting up a new Eagle squadron?

It really makes my day to see it on your photo again. Brings back good memories. Thanks.

Is there something missing behind the pilot? (besides the missed opportunity for a backride)

I think there is no second seat anymore!

To me it looks like the back seat is still there (same shapes visible front and back from the top of the seat), but cranked down in the lowest possible position..

Just under two years with the 22nd MU and the first of these has flown again. IAF serial is 980, and apparently all 9 (yes, we made 9 a/c from 8 frames - or another was received, possibly two  ) will be serialled 980, 981, 982 etc. No tie-ups yet.

Rumour is that most of the 1976 fiscal As (6xx serials) will be replaced by these 2nd hand Ds, and starting at x80 suggests more are expected (as 280 is already an F-15D, and whilst the IAF numbering system is "interesting" it is unusual to have the last two repeating for such a small batch).

No photos yet, so here's an F-15C to keep you interested:
