Near miss above Belgium on 1st Jan

Post by joost »

http://nos.nl/artikel/2152895-gent-op-n ... snapt.html.

What they do not mention is the 90 meters was vertical seperation.
Horizontal seperation was .78 Nm which I believe is almost 1.5 Km.
Still to close for comfort though as 1.5 Km (I think) is a matter of seconds.

A hairrazing experience for an air traffic controller, I know it from my own background. Nightmares for a long period, glad they did not overrule TICAS.

Reading the NOS article, the Egyptian plane overruled TICAS.
