ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

all around Wittmund is a fence, you always need a stepladder. The pictures you see here were made at the south-western side of the base, there are also good spots at the south eastern side.
You could go for landing shots in front of runway, but then you have to stand in farmer fields

Hi Pembroke, Google Maps helps a lot.

To help you (and for all the other people reading and have the same question as Pembroke :) )

The information below is from 2014, the last time I visited Wittmund. That time the locals flew poorly.

Westside of the base. Park your car at "am Fluplatz". Not to close to the fence. Security does not like that. Roberto already mentioned you need a stepladder. Be aware limited places here (blue line) so be on time or go to the other side were you have more space.

Image

For the eastside of the base park your car at the "Wehler weg". Blue P on the map. From here walk for about 300 meters to the fence. Again stepladder needed. Do not walk through a farmers field for shortcuts! Walk along the paths and along the fence to find your spot (see blue lines). Here you need about 300mm on a fullframe camera for an Eufi.

Good luck and hope you want to post some of your pictures here so I can enjoy looking.

The hangars near the platform on the RWY 26 side.. so north-east side of the base
