Lajes (Azores) LPLA/TER - 2017 MIL

A total of 10 USMC AV8s arrived at Lajes in the past days.

On May 15th arrived at Lajes a flight of 6 AV8s as MAZDA11 FLT with BLUE61 #85-0032 out of LERT to LPLA. The BLUE62 #79-1949 out of LICZ went to LERT after leave the fighters with the other tanker.

On May 17th arrived at Lajes a flight of 4 AV8s as MAZDA21 FLT with BLUE71 #84-0189 out of LERT to LPLA. The BLUE72 #83-0076 out of LICZ went to LERT after leave the fighters with the other tanker.

RCH509 #02-1110 arrived on the 17th after the fighters and the tanker from LGSA. I believe this is the support aircraft for the fighters.

Finally, today (May 18th) only 8 AV8s have departed to KNKT and both tanker have clearance to KWRI. Also the RCH509 departed later this afternoon.
MAZDA21 reported that MAZDA23 and MAZDA24 will back to Lajes due a engine malfunction indication on MAZDA24.

Two possibly AV8s were left behind in the Sandbox or even in Souda.. not sure.
