Zeebrugge - Port visit april 1993

Post by 11E »

On April 12th, 1993 there was a port visit in Zeebrugge of a US Navy ship with at least the following helicopters

HH-1N 158231
HH-1N 160838
MH-53E 163053
MH-53E 163056
MH-53E 163057
MH-53E 163065
MH-53E 163066

I'am looking for the name of the ship, the codes and units of the helicopters

Thanks in advance
Lesley

MH-53E 163066/BJ-551,163068/BJ-553,163069/BJ-554,163070/BJ-555 HM14
UH-1N 160838/38 USS Inchon
HH-1N 158231/BF-106 HC16

So it was the USS Inchon with above helicopters aboard. A shame such visits are not happening anymore....

Thanks Jeroen!
Yes, those were the days. Also renting a Budget car and drive to Cannes or Toulon and back to visit a carrier. Especially the question of the people behind the budget desk. '' So is it correct that you drove 2600 km in just 26 hrs?? 8)

I most remember those days! 10k km touring the Scandanavics and then continuing to DDR in 4 weeks time was also an option...

Luckily I've got a nice boss now a days with a DKV...

good memories. Renting a new (only 100 km driven before) km free care for 5 days. And returned the car with 11.000 km .....
Tour de espagne (towards rota among other things) and hearing in spain that there was an open day at Cotbus then east germany.

So we left spain earlier than expected and drove straight to eastern germany. And arriving at cottbus we discovered that there was no open day .......

At least we saw a lot of east germany and sowjet mil hardware.

The year was 1990.
