Can anybody advise where was the CH-53 fuselage was (and the Tornado cockpit for that matter!)? We parked at the Northwestern end and walked in, so I guess we came from the wrong direction?TF-104G wrote:Four E-3A parked in a line on the RWY, so it´s a big problem for other aircraft dep or arr.
Missed the CH-53 fuselage but i found a Tornado cockpit from 45+60.
The CH-53 was in the northern dispersal area of the runway. On google maps you can see it in the second bay on the right side.sschofield wrote:Can anybody advise where was the CH-53 fuselage was (and the Tornado cockpit for that matter!)? Right, I can see it now! Pity, we were close but not close enough!witje wrote:The CH-53 was in the northern dispersal area of the runway. Thanks for the info Frank!frank kramer wrote:Concerning the fuselage of the CH-53: someone that has been "up close and personal" with it tells me its painted-out serial ends in "04", which would make it either 84+04 or 85+04, 84 being the most likely candidate, as 85+04 apparently is still flying..
In the dispersal on the other side there seems to be a Huey. Did anyone see that one as well, or the opposite, can anyone confirm that one wasn't there (anymore). On the image from 2009 it is visible, later images are either not clear, or it seems it is gone.witje wrote:The CH-53 was in the northern dispersal area of the runway.
