Ribbon on tailfin 32nd TFS/FS F-15 Eagles

Post by sabk9 »

In the beginning of using the F-15 Eagle, the 32nd TFS/FS aircraft were provided with an orange ribbon on the fin tail. Later there was an orange ribbon with a green border and crown on the aircraft’s tail. But there were also aircraft provided with a green ribbon with orange border and crown.

Can someone tell me when and why there have been changes?

If I remember well:
Due to the high amount of aircraft for one squadron, the squadron was divided in two "flights", indicated by the two different tailbands.
