– Joint Forcible Entry and airfield seizure, Bezmer, Bulgaria

SWIFT RESPONSE 2017 (SR17) took place from July 13 – 23, 2017, in several locations including: Bezmer , Bulgaria; Papa Airbase, Hungary; and Cincu and Campia Turzii, Romania. The exercise included two air assaults, two joint forcible entries (JFEs), and the air landing of a platoon of 2CR Strykers at Campia Turzii and at Bezmer.

Approximately 2,500 troops participated from the 173D IBCT (A) out of Vicenza, Italy and 500 from the 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry Regiment (1-143IN), Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG). Other nations included Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Romania.
