Spotting Advice So Cal

Post by fire28 »

Hello,

I will be in Southern CA (San Diego) in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone has ever spotted (taken photos) at the following places and can provide any advice (other then whats in the airfield guides)?

NAS North Island
NOLF Imperial Beach
March ARB
El Centro (Will a car make it to the west end of the field through the dirt roads?

Any where else to stop?

Morning,

If you log in to the scramble airfield guide, most of the bases are easy.

March is very easy. You can spot from the museum, or the road towards the museum, but you can also drive along the fence towards the runway end (only 1 side).

El Centro is perhaps even better. Indeed that dirt road, but also the otherside should be easy (but never been there).

North Island only done from inside.

Let us know how it was overthere and have fun!

Was at Imperial Beach a week ago, as per the airfield guide, but in an afternoon only had a small number of MH-60s doing circuit work.
