Rapcon is fighter minded

But don't they see the data transmitted by Mode S? It clearly shows FA50, with some basic knowledge you know it's a Falcon 50. I can understand you ask the aircraft to confirm aircraft type etc.

But don't they see the data transmitted by Mode S? It clearly shows FA50, with some basic knowledge you know it's a Falcon 50. I can understand you ask the aircraft to confirm aircraft type etc.

As I can remember they can see Mode S data but if you don't know what an FA50 is as a controller I do understand these questions. Not all controllers are aviation-minded like us.
