However, post-event
there remains a lot to reflect on and areas where we would like to improve.
As the organiser,
we have concluded that rather than stage an airshow in 2018,
we will use next year to fully consider the many lessons learnt with the ambition of running an event in 2019.
We are very grateful to the many volunteers, sponsors, participants and local agencies, as well as the many thousands of people who attended September's airshow, for their support.

Scampton Airshow cancelled for 2018 after making loss
14 December 2017
A new air show held at the home of the Red Arrows will not be returning in 2018 after it made a loss.
Scampton Airshow, held for the first time in September, attracted about 50,000 visitors over two days.
An RAF spokesman said it was understood the loss was due to higher than expected costs and a lack of ticket sales.
Many people responded to the news on Facebook.
Craig T. posted: "If it can't put on a show in the 100th year [of the RAF] then it won't happen again. They made a loss even on those prices..."
Others said the tickets were too expensive and the event was held at the wrong time of year.
Another post said there was not enough variety.
RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire hosted more than 100 aircraft for the event, with displays from the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
An annual air show was previously held at nearby RAF Waddington, home to the UK's Reaper fleet.
This was axed in 2015 by the Ministry of Defence over "increased security concerns".
