334 or 336 sq rnlaf?

Post by Stafsels »

Question for the future:

Will 336sq remain flying the rnlaf hercules aircraft and will 334sq disband with the end of the kdc-10 in 2020. Or will 334sq goes NATO?

Amy one for a gues?

....it seems 334 Squadron is to stop operating their Gulfstream 4 V-11 after 2018.

This very likely coincides with the lease of a Boeing 737 BBJ
until PH-GOV is finally delivered.

Thanks for the update!

How long does the RNLAF than intent to keep the Hercules aircraft in the air?
Maintain all for H-models or participating in the new German-French Herc-Force with new Juliet models and update some or the new CH-47F for special operations with AAR-capicity?

According to an article in the latest Onze Luchtmacht 334 Sqn will be disbanded when the last KDC-10 is phased out and the same article says that it is still unclear off both the Dorniers and the Gulf go to the 336 Sqn.

The classic Herc will stay with us for quite some time; rnlaf is working on an 'end of life' maintenance contract which should keep our C-130s fit for another 10 years or so. Their cockpits were upgraded not so long ago and the two short second hand hercs had very low flying hours anyway
