Post by f4phantom »

were on public auction......

Last week, a public auction of Banco Ciudad was held to sell the four old Boeing 707 belonging to the Argentine Air Force. Finally, three of the Boeings were acquired by an American company dedicated to instruments and spare parts; while the remaining 707 387B was purchased by an Argentine individual. All the lots auctioned exceeded on average by 2% the bases offered, which were between 200,000 and 245,000 pesos. Since 2006, these aircraft were in disuse and without conditions to fly. All have multiple shortages and breakdowns so they have been deprogrammed and decided their sale and that for years remain as a backlog, disconnected from the service at El Palomar Base. Likewise, a fifth Boeing 707, the TC91, was restored to be used in the technical training of the students of the ENET N ° 1.
