Re: Red Flag 2018

Post by tbower40 »

After reading through all the posts I just wanted to confirm if anyone knows the Flight schedule for Red Flag 18-2? I read something regarding 1pm launches and the recoveries an hour or two later and then a night launch. Is that correct?

No Red Flag launches in the morning hours? Just normal base training flights ?

Thanks,
Trevor

If you read the FAA notams one would assume the launches for 18-2 are as follows:
1100L-1400L
1630L-2100L
0000L-0200L

This seems more like a Green Flag Launch schedule then a Red Flag as typically RF is 1300L-1530/1600L then 2000L-0000L.

We will know for sure in 29hrs.

I totally forgot to look at the NOTAMS.

Thank you for the heads up on that and the information.

Perhaps a tiny bit off topic(?), but does anybody know if the AK agressors are still in Nellis (press article stated they would stay for 6 months)? And till when they will stay?

Cheers,
Oz

The AK aggressors are NOT at Nellis! The article was badly written in as much that it referred to the Weapons School course lasting for 6 months. The AK F-16s stayed for about two weeks and went home just before the Airshow in November...

14/15 march 2018 Nellis AFB, NV

Seen here on the above days were the following awesome 230 aircraft! The aircraft are listed clockwise starting on the left end of the platform. Most aircraft were read of by our group on the 14th between 06:45 and 08:30. Some aircraft were (partially) added from the list posted earlier in this topic. Some fiscal years were looked up.

Additions and corrections are most welcome. A few commanders aircraft remain unknown so I would be pleased if anyone can add these!

Many thanks for typing this all Paul! Filled quite a few gaps....
A few remarks from me:
Row 7:
57Wg/24TASS : F-16C : WA/89-211924TASS
ex 388FW (bk/r fin) : F-16C : HL/89-2149 HL/88-0439 HL/88-0503
ex 388FW/4FS : F-16C : HL/88-0436 HL/89-2015 HL/89-2092

HL/89-2092 y (14-3) also flew and was probably and aircraft that we read of as ending with a '3'.
We also read one of as 083 with a question mark, so that should indeed probably have been 2092.
Row 10 (sheds):
57Wg/433WPS : F-15C : WA/78-0517433WPS WA/83-0027 WA/..-___3
53TEG/422TES : F-15C : OT/..-____0
: F-15D : OT/81-0063
We read the missing OT as 040, which should be based 83-0040. For the one ending in 3 I have 83-0019.
Row 11 (sheds):
53TEG/433WPS : F-15C : OT/83-0026+2
Very hard to read, we read them as 27/WA, which probably was 83-0037, and 022/OT, which should be 82-0022.
Row 12 (sheds):
56FW : F-35A : LF/13-5078 14-5103/LF56OG LF/14-5107
57Wg/433WPS : F-15C : WA/78-0567br c/s +1
We read the other Eagle as 030/OT, which should make it 81-0030.
Row 19:
134FS/VT-ANG : F-16C : --/86-0262 --/86-0288 --/86-0309 --/86-0328 --/86-0336spec
--/86-0363 --/87-0223 --/87-0312 --/87-0322 --/87-0326

86-0365 posted earlier but not seen, 0262 not in the list at the MB
0262 also read off by us.
+ 3 H-60s just returned from deployment of prepared for deployment.
Anybody, were those unpacked later in the week maybe?
Row 37:
57Wg/16WPS : F-16C : WA/90-0728 WA/92-3882
: F-16D : 1x

Read of by another group were: WA/499, WA/728 (no longer present on day 2 and flew from the revetments)
You list 728/WA yourself here as well. We indeed read off 499/WA as well.
Cheers,

Thanks for the additions Patrick and you're welcome! On the early morning of the 14th four aircraft were parked about mid field and on the morning of the 15th only three were remaining (two C's and an unidentified D). 728 was flying that day so it is likely that this one was moved to the revetments.

On March 15th we saw A-10 79-0087/MD Maryland ANG coming in. It was still parked on March 16th in the evening near the FT A-10's on the "green flag flightline" together with another MD ANG A10.

Anyone for the other MD A10 ?
