Log Inowroclaw, Poland 19-May-2018

Post by mm12bva »

Noted at 3 different locations on Saturday morning were the following
the two gate guards at the barracks in the town seen from road side

Was any one near the blister hangars when the W-3 were towed back to the main part of the airfield we had gone over to the USAr helicopters but noticed a W3 on the left side looking in of first hangar without rotary blades
an excellent hassle free event, we even got air side at the aeroclub to photograph the hinds departing for the flypast(thanks to the officer in charge and one of the pilots for the escort)

Great log, thanks! I did not see the W-3 you refer to. The two W-3 that had been flying were towed into the blister hangars immediately after landing, and the personnel there were not happy to have us look around the hangars (we did try...). However, I DID see another Mi2: 5341 was seen in a clearing between some trees near the end of the western parking area. It was definitely not operational :-)
And yes, it was a great event. As was reported by the last two Dutch spotters on the field, around 16.00 Mi2 6003 (the one with the stovepipes) and the last Mi24 in the landing area (740 if I remember correctly) left for home, so were not locally based.

Thanks for the update, Interesting the Crews were unhappy as there were no issues with the Mil-2 crews when they were brought across , we missed the disused Mil2 ;-(

the W-3 in question, sorry about the people only had a short lense in use

The W3 are the most difficult to read of anyway... even the Hinds have better contrast between the green and the black

Indeed they are, and of course not helped by the truck , we set off for the hangar only to see the doors being lowered as the truck pulled out so gave up
hopefully somebody was in that area or along with the 2xW3 at Tiger meet we will be 3 a/c short this trip

Still need those two too...
We were between the two blisters with the W3's that were put inside but were sent away before we could take a good look inside :(
