The RTBA is not really of use if you want to see Mirages and Rafales. Pilots tend to fly just outside this network because it does not require booking the sections in the RTBA system. At least that was around Luxeuil but their Mirage 2000-5 are for air-to-air, of course.
The Vallee du Mars (look for the village of Le Vaulmier) is frequently used for low flying through the valley by Nancy's Mirage 2000D with their ground following radar/autopilot. The valley is no part of the RTBA, however.
Orange's Mirages 2000B/C often train in an area west of Ruoms. Nice to observe dogfights high in the sky. To high for photography.
I remember seeing lots of M2000s over the Ardèche/Rhone west of Orange many years ago. Sometimes low level in the area near Aubenas.
Also Super Etendards every once in a while.

Been there some weeks ago. But was not lucky as there was hardly any flying activities (listened via scanner). Search on darbes in forum and you find a pic of gazelle. Understood from camping owner that many fighters and expecially army helis operate often low here. I only had a tiger and alphajet in one week time. The alphajet made a low approach at orange.
You neef to be lucky and when you see them you are too late with the camara. Darbes is close to aubernas and has a nice quit dutch camping on the mountain.
