Neither of the two pilots flew for the navy again after that flight. My XO Capt was friends with the lead pilot and told us today that he had the above sea-level altitude toggled instead above-ground altitude, so he thought he was over the 1000 foot legal limit, but in fact he wasn't. The wingman missed that building by 36 feet.
