According to ADSB the 54+16 has just flown over my house, which raises two questions: why are Lw examples pi** easy to see when Adel'A examples are a bit**? Secondly, but not that important as it's not my first "electronic" sighting, did the 54+16 depart Wunstorf maybe 4-5 hours ago?
Today on 20.09. around 13.30 h Atlas C.1 ZM405 arrived from Brize Norton for a night stop and another "exchange of experience" between the two nations. Also noted were A.400M 54+02, 54+04, 54+08, 54+14 on the ramp while 54+16 was taking off for Lechfeld. Another five were away in the USA, Norway (two aircraft on low flying training for two months), Jordan and Sevilla while two more were at Manching (in addition to 54+01 and 54+06 which were awaited back at last in January) for a software upgrade.
Noted landing for a nightstop on 18.10. were two Slovenian AF AS.532AL of 151.HEESK, serials H3-72 and H3-73.
Arriving from Jordan was LTG 62 A.400M 54+11 while 54+17 arrived from Pristina. On the ramp were 54+05, 54+08, 54+09, 54+12, 54+13, 54+14, 54+15 plus 54+21 on the de-icing platform.
Arriving on 6.12. at 14.34h was brandnew A.400M 54+23 for LTG 62.
On or around 13.12. 54+20 and 54+22 should arrive and 54+25 is planned for just before Christmas.
In November 2018 500 hours have been flown in LTG 62 which is the highest number to date.

A.400M 54+02 departed for Manching on 4.12. and will rejoin the fleet in early October 2019 after an C-Check including getting four new engines. The aircaft will also get the tanker refuelling pods.
Rumors say that 54+01 could stay with WTD61 now or in the future as an C-160D replacement but time will tell.
In a few days an A400M will depart for Argentina for the first time delivering an unknown Airbus Helicopter to the country.
Today, on 13.12., at 16.15 hours the 23th A.400M for LTG 62 arrived in the shape on 54+22. As 54+20 and 54+23 it wears the "Armouring Kit" for operations in Afghanistan etc.
After it´s eleven days lasting trip to and from Buenos Aires/Argentina A.400M 54+21 of LTG 62 landed back at Wunstorf just before lunch on 18.12.. It was the first trip of a German A.400M to South America and it flew via Dakar and French Guiana. For the EATC and the Armee de l´Air it transported a "new" SA.330B Puma to ET 00.068 at Cayenne/Rochambeau. On it´s return trip 54+21 also landed at Villacoublay/Vélizy and so presumably brought back another Puma or AS.555AN for heavy maintenance in France.
Another reason for the flight was the participation in the 60th Anniversary of the Lockheed Hercules in FAA service.
