Exercise "Sky Angels"

A multinational SAR exercise began yesterday in central/southern Israel with participation from the US, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Israel (and maybe others). Air assets & operating base still unknown. Notams are up for 04-07 and 11-14th November covering the area from Beersheva down to Ovda basically dawn thru dusk. Concurrently, at Ovda, "Blue & White" Flag is an Israel Air Force only exercise featuring a number of local assets with increased activity over southern Israel for the next two weeks. I should get out more.....

Being a gentleman of leisure, me and the boys went to Ovda today and saw:

69 sqd: F-15I 212, 238, 250, 271,
101 sqd: F-16C 503, 514, 527, 530, 534, 543, 546, 558
105 sqd: F-16D 619, 624, 637, 638, 642, 647, 684 (missed one)
115 sqd "The Reds": F-16C 309 (1st sighting with the unit), 360, 367, 383, plus 313 & 317 from 117 sqd (their "mother" unit)
133 sqn: F-15A/C/D 678, 695, 696, 698, 848, 450, 957 (from 106 sqn), 970

As I said, the exercise continues next week. Flying stooped either for lunch of for the Ryanair & Wizz flights, actually flights from/to Sofia are under $100 return!! As always, photos from the free airport car park are fine in the afternoons, stepladder may be required.
