Belgian investigators have disclosed that a Brussels Airlines Airbus A330-200
suffered failures in both engines
while en route from Kinshasa on 11 December 2018.

Incident: Brussels A332 over Algeria and Belgium on Dec 11th 2018, engine restarted after failure, other engine repeatedly restarted on approach

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Brussels 10 days later.

On Dec 21st 2018 Belgium's AIB reported the aircraft was enroute at FL400 over Algeria when the left hand engine failed.

The crew declared PAN PAN PAN and considered to divert to Djerba (Tunisia).

The crew was subsequently able to relight the engine and decided to continue to Brussels.

While descending towards Brussels, the right hand engine failed and automatically restarted several times.

The aircraft landed safely with both engines operating.

The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.

There were no injuries, the level of damage is still being assessed.
