Irish airline CityJet can refuse from the exploitation of Russian aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100.
This was stated by the head of the company “Sukhoi Civil aircraft” Alexander Rubtsov,
reports “Interfax”.

According to Rubtsov, the Irish company has changed its business model,
so previously concluded agreements “now look completely different”.

He also noted that at the moment companies are in talks,
but are “finishing the history of the relationship”.

The head of the Russian company also expressed hope that the contract will be able to “modify”.

Rubtsov added that the Russian company has another European customer
is the Slovenian airline Adria Airways,
which is planned to supply 15 aircraft for about two years.

CityJet is the only European company operating the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100.

The contract was planned to deliver to Ireland 15 aircraft,
however, at this point in the airline’s fleet, only seven boards.

Only in the years 2011-2017 was released 156 aircraft.
The largest buyer is “Aeroflot” (35 aircraft).

In November 2018 it became known that the airline Brussels Airlines
will replace the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100)
on the canadian Bombardier CRJ 900.

The company’s representatives told about the problems
with the operation of the aircraft, which had cancelled a number of flights.

SCAC and CityJet may cancel their cooperation in 2019

Russian Aviaton » Saturday December 22, 2018 03:08 MSK

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, producer of Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes,
and the Irish airline CityJet may cancel their cooperation in 2019,
President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Alexander Rubtsov told reporters.

Earlier, Brussels Airlines, which subleased SSJ-100 aircraft from CityJet, announced its decision to abandon the aircraft.

"According to CityJet, our situation is as follows:
they changed their business model, as you know,
they abandoned the London City flight program and
switched to a wet leasing model with Brussels Airlines and others.

Therefore, we will have to diversify our contract,
because we had one kind of agreements but life went on in a different way.

Therefore, we do not exclude that there may be different turns in the fate of this contract.

Most likely, the situation will become clear in the first quarter (of 2019)," Rubtsov said.

"We proceed from the fact that CityJet is a good story,
but we do not rule out that we can finish our relationship history
if we do not come to some other option. <...>

We are negotiating with them,
but I do not exclude that we can bring this topic to an end next year, "he concluded.
