YAKUTSK, March 5, 2019, 08:17 - REGNUM
All An-24 aircrafts on which Yakutia Airlines provides transportation services
for residents of the region between settlements of the republic will be transferred to Polar Airlines.
As the correspondent of REGNUM news agency reports,
such changes were announced by the Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of Yakutia Alexander Tarasov,
who headed the government group,
which made a report of the government in the village of Ugolnoe, Verkhnekolymsky district of the republic.
The decision has already been made, and its implementation is scheduled for autumn 2019,
writes the newspaper "Kolymskie Novosti".
Alexander Tarasov explained the high tariffs for passenger air travel, complained about by the villagers,
by the outdated air fleet.
Aircraft currently operating on inter-district flights do not have fuel-efficient engines, and kerosene prices are rising.
"We made this decision so that Yakutia would be engaged in international trunk transportation.
Polar Airlines will take over all flights across the country with An-24 and An-26 aircraft.
Perhaps this will have a positive impact on airline ticket prices," the Minister expressed hope.

As IA REGNUM reported, the prices for flights from the capital of Yakutia to
the settlements of the republic are almost as high as for air travel from Yakutsk to Sochi or Crimea,
and range from 10 to 25 thousand rubles per ticket,
and sometimes even higher
(for example, the ticket price to Srednekolymsk is more than 26 thousand rubles).
