24/06 2 German AF Typhoons collided, and crashed

2 Typhoons crashed after colliding over Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
pilots seem to have been able to eject safely.

Aircraft confirmed to be from TLG73. Meantime one pilot found alive, the second pilot is still missing.

Sadly it doesn't look good for the missing pilot: :cry:

Meantime it was confirmed, that the second pilot did not survive the accident.

...The surviving pilot is one of Luftwaffe's most experienced instructors. The pilot killed in the collision was a younger officer. But conclusions about the consequences of the accident could not be drawn from this....
...Since the cause of the accident is still unclear, the flight operations are suspended...
.... The investigation into the cause of the accident is running at full speed. During the night of Tuesday, about 300 German soldiers were looking around for parts of the wreckage, some with headlights and night-vision devices around the crash sites..

The planned family/open day at Wittmund coming Saterday is cancelled due to the tragical event at Laage (were TKG71 was temporarily based until this week).
