It was not a rumour.
It was stated on their own site and they've removed it.
Not stated it was a Mi-24, but they clearly told us about a helicopter of the Czech air force, someone on scramble said it would be a Mi-24
It was. Do you really think a small local event here would host Czech military hardware? It was posted on some site yes, so that became the rumor.. Fact is that the people from Stroe never ever even had contact with the Czech AF.
It was on their own webpage. I read it myself too. Also see viewtopic.php?f=18&t=143620, a piece of copy paste from their own site.
Why would they not come? Bring in the Euro's and you can get what you want. That makes RIAT and Sanicole that big and our Luchtmachtdagen that poor.
If you want to believe that, fair enough....
They are not attending and that was never the case.
The original press release mentions "a helicopter of the Czech airforce". That could have suggested a Mi24, but clearly there isn't a Czech helo in the current program. Things change, that's what happens at airshows sometimes
Quote from the first press release:

And that press release was a mistake. Anyway we can discuss this in lenght...... they are not coming.

And again. I know this is so.....
A nice mistake to keep it alive for months. Just a teaser to get attention to your show, that is my view on it. Just like to keep the Apache on it, whilst they are not released for flights yet.

Nice little event. Nicer than expected to be honest. Relaxed atmosphere. Pity that Cougar pilot and boots on the ground didn't agree on place of crowdline. No complaints, did enjoy the day.
Very nice event indeed, with good photo opportunities. Despite the cloudy weather I am very happy with the results. Lots of helos that I had not seen before, so worth the trip. Pity about the Gazelle not turning up, though.
