90 km/h gusts and reported windshear...
Ask the A380 pilot how easy it was...

I was there also that day. See my video of this day on my youtube channel.
Gusts up to 42 knots were reported, so not normal conditions.
Also wind shear was reported by several pilots. Some decided to do a go-around because of that.
But the wind was almost on the nose, so not that difficult. Only the possibility of windshear made is more difficult.

I appreciate the support, mate!
I hate it when people act like that, so ungrateful. While we take the time and effort to make these videos in hard conditions.

I don't agree on the wind being almost on the nose, though.
On the nose is a headwind, which is hardly the case at Schiphol when planes are landing on the Polderbaan (southwestern storm/Zuidwesterstorm).
That day the wind was also coming from the southwest, as you can see in the videos with the angle of approach in relation to the runway.
This was sometimes an angle of almost 45 degrees (!). That's extreme.
When it gets a bit worse, Schiphol often closes the Polderbaan (18R) and they will - as you know - use the the Oostbaan (22) or Buitenveldertbaan (27):



The A380 is such a stable plane during storm landings, so it often looks easy, like in my video of August 10.
Although I recorded an A380 Go Around once, 2 years ago:



But nevertheless, we are lucky in Holland to be able to enjoy the spectacular storm landings at AMS several times every year.
