Uzbekistan Airways has put 18 aircraft,
including its entire freighter fleet of two Boeing 767-300BCFs and five Ilyushin IL-76TDs,
up for sale (Uzbekistan Airways)
National carrier Uzbekistan Airways has announced the sale of
its older passenger Boeings,
its Soviet-built turboprop fleet and all its
freighter aircraft as part of a major fleet rejuvenation effort.
In total the airline has put 18 aircraft up for sale,
including two 1999-vintage Boeing 757-200s,
as well as two Boeing 767-300ERs that were produced between 2003 and 2004.
It also remains hopeful of being able to sell its seven PW-127H-powered Ilyushin IL-114-100 turboprops (built between 1999 and 2013)
along with a full flight simulator for the type.
The airline was the last to stop commercial operation of this type in May 2018.
Finally, Uzbekistan Airways is also discarding its entire freighter fleet of two Boeing 767-300BCFs (built in 1996 and 1997)
and five Russian-made Ilyushin IL-76TDs (1982 and 1992).
The major renewal of Uzbekistan Airways’ fleet is in line
with the government’s decree that refers specifically to “the measures for radical improvement of civil aviation in Uzbekistan” –
a November 2018 declaration that was issued by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country’s president.
So far this year the airline has taken delivery of two Airbus A320neos
and has also started commercial operations of its fourth and fifth Boeing 787-8s.
According to the renewal plan, next year Uzbekistan Airways will have six Dreamliners in its fleet,
making it the leading operator of the type in the CIS countries.
The current active fleet of Uzbekistan Airways is made of
Airbus A320s and A320neos, B757s, B767s and B787-8s.
Transport minister Ilkhom Makhmov previously revealed that
the airline is also reviewing its position regarding regional aircraft with seating capacities of between 70 and 90 passengers for its domestic routes and,
overall, the airline’s fleet is expected to reach 38 units by 2025

Uzbekistan Airways is looking to pay down debt and offload 18 older aircraft including
two Boeing 767-300BCFs,
two Boeing 767ERs,
two Boeing 757-200s,
five Il-76TDs and
seven Il-114s.
Boeing 767s are especially attractive to cargo carriers.
American Airlines couldn’t resist shedding 20 from its fleet in a deal they locked in last December with Air Transport Services Group (several of which should end up flying for Amazon).
What’s unique about the Uzbekistan Airways plan to sell aircraft, though, is that the planes are listed for sale on Facebook.
