Cause would be collision. No information yet about the types involved.

Following official communication

Collision was between a Tigre and a Cougar during a low flight yesterday evening.
13 KIA, crews from 5e RHC (Pau)

They showed a picture of a NH90 on the BBC website, but with the reputation of the mainstream media (MSM) in reporting aviation events being not high, it looks like a collision between a Cougar and a Tigre is-it this point in time- the most likely outcome.
