Patrulla Aguila #5 down, pilot killed

Post by michel N »

Another C101 of the Spanish Air Force has crashed today near San Javier. The pilot unfortunately did not eject.

Not correct! The crash of September 18, 2019 was with ENAER T-35C Tamiz (Pillán) E.26-05.

it was E.25-65, as I had the doubtful "privilige" to photograph its last departure from San Javier. From seven aircraft, only this one did not return to base.
rest in peace, Eduardo!

looking on my I-Mac at home it looks rather like anything else (it took off in a formation of three and I made a shot of the whole formation, not of the single aircraft). sorry for any inconvenience.

E.25-38/79-38 as #5? According my info it's #7?

E.25-38/79-38 was coded '6' and E.25-06/79-06 was coded '7' on 25th Feb when I photographed them.

The #5 refers to the job of the pilot, being the solo pilot of the team. That does not mean he flies the aircraft with code 5 during training.

But you said that E.25-65 "5" didn't return?

It was definately Code 5 which did not return. Serials are not sharp enough on my pics of departing aircraft but a deep analysis shows something most similar to E.25-65.
The codes are stickers only can be changed without too much work.
Did anybody photograph Code 5 in the last weeks?

E.25-38/79-38 did return from the fatal display rehearsal with "6" ...
