The Tundra is back with some shrewd improvements that will make it more durable than it's predecessor. I highlight these and throw it about in the air during it's maiden flight.
Joel's aspiration to achieve vertical take off, transition to flight and vertical landing has had its challenges. There have been disappointments along the way...but he's persistent and the latest results are promising.
Designing F-35B Vertical take-off/Landing (VTOL)
Joel shares design and engineering that has been invested in his F-35B project. Hoping we get to see first transition flight soon.
Superb little P-51. Very quick assembly. The included flight stabilisation unit makes it fly like a much larger model. Very locked in feel while it is flying. Gives immediate confidence for low fast and slow passes and aerobatics. Super impressed.
Azza and Sonny are well known for their close formation aerobatics and this was another brilliant flying slot at the Cosford Large Model Association Show featuring their two Bill Hempel Clipped Wing Cubs. These radio controlled aircraft have a wing span of 18 feet (216 inches) and are designed for the 3W-275cc engine but Azza and Sonny used the ZDZ 420B4-J. The weight is approximately 94-96 pounds.
Eachine Mini F4U Corsair
Following on from the hugely popular P-51 Mustang this is the new Eachine F4U Corsair. No assembly required other than attaching the fixed landing gear if you feel so inclined. Comes with 3 batteries. Charge them up with the provided USB charger, put 4 AA batteries in the transmitter and go fly. Has 3 flight modes. Beginner, Midd and Expert. I flew on Midd most of the time and it was great fun especially in the warm breeze.
After a delay finding a flying site we got my Freewing Avanti converted to a Kingtech K45 G3 turbine engine in the air. For a first flight it was even better than expected.
Our first flight with this big ready to fly Extra 330 from FMS. Even in the hands of an experienced 3D pilot it will take a few spins to get the best from it but our Trevor did good in the conditions.
Adrian flies his spectacular Roban HH-60 Jayhawk US Coast Guard Helicopter in breezy conditions and makes it look easy. A lot of custom detail added to this helicopter to make it look as authentic as possible in the air.
A rare but fantastic sight of a seriously big F-14 powered by two Kingtech K210 gas turbine engines. Watch as it starts-up, takes off and demonstrates the swing wing mechanism.
